Edison slept only 4 hours a day, but for another 4 hours in his office he was completely undisturbed and thinking. He was interested in psychic phenomena and mysticism. He and Luther Burbank were great friends.
When I met Edison he asked if I had any system in my chemical research and I said 'No, I just get a feeling then I do it'.
He quipped 'Well I take the chemicals, put them together and do not know what will happen, but as long as they do not explode, I am satified'.
