What if the stones
Of our Love are strong?
What if the foundations
Are on granite?
It is no solace
When the windows are broken
And the floorboards glitter
With jagged glass
What if the roof
Withstands the gales
If the tears of the rain
Seep endlessly?
What use is the strength
Of our stone built house?
If the rain runs over
Its motionless face
What if the stones
Of our house are strong?
Strength, in itself
Has no strength at all.
