Background

A description of the experience

Lucid dreams – Celia Green

My first experience of being  [out of body] occurred when I was a child between three and a half and four.  I had a very bad attack of scarlet fever and nearly died.

At the foot of my bed was a wardrobe.  On the top of this my toys had been placed.  I used to see a broad shaft of light streaming from my toys.  I never succeeded in getting to the top, but would feel myself pulled backward.

I could see my bed beneath me, but also I could see myself climbing, from a position in the bed corresponding to my normal visual field.  I saw myself dressed in a sailor suit similar to that which I usually wore.  Double vision was thus involved; seeing from my physical body my [spirit] body and from my [spirit] the bed a few feet beneath me.

I cannot now recall whether my double vision was simultaneous or not that is whether I had my physical sight one moment and spirit sight at another
