1) Finally in honeyed songs sweetness melts. For this is the result of rapture in those chosen for this gift. For this reason, it is a great and wonderful privilege that he was caught; it is pre-eminent for it, as I think, exceeds all the other gifts which are conferred by God, the merit of the saints in this pilgrimage to the earth. It is through this way that God fervently, and most quietly loves; so when someone is elected to that raised high place, in great joy, and full of courage, they live and in secure peace of mind die; and after this life, assist the most senior among the angelic choirs nearer to God.
2) In the second, however, it has the sweetness and intensity of songbirds, of which it is far above the sensible, and by means of which the soul and the spirit, being in love, inseparably join.
3) Since, however, the corruptible body weighs down the soul, and the earthly dwelling place of the active mind; the same facility is not always equally clear. There may be less heate of the sweetness of the feeling and only sometimes song. At other times, however, to praise therewith, there is a wonderful sweetness and facility is not carried away. The soul is carried away with music and travels, the song preventing all disturbance by physical noise.
Some may be without a song. In solitude, he speaks to the heart as a beloved friend and lover.
