Autonomic system - sexual system
I suspect that very few people are aware just how many mystic branches of religions, or the more esoteric systems of spiritual experience are based on sex as the mechanism by which spiritual experience is obtained.
There is a complete system hidden within the other systems of many cultures that is simply sex based and a glance at the list of practises – all very similar but all with different names and symbolic codings, should show that not a culture in the world was not without this form of technique to achieve spiritual experience.
Why is this not widely known?
One of the main reasons is that sexual activity is an immensely powerful technique producing some highly significant spiritual experiences. A glance at Qigong, Nunjutsu and Ninpo, at the Kahuna system and the Shinto systems should show that what emerges are people of great power.
Now we may think this is very good, but in most of the countries of the world this sort of power threatens the political elite of the country, whether this is an elite based on simple politics – communism, fascism, socialism or similar; or a political system based on religion such as Catholicism, Protestantism or Islam.
Spiritual power at this level threatens particularly the power of religions, because it creates large numbers of alternative practitioners, and practitioners who can genuinely ‘go to heaven’ as opposed to all the theologians and priests or imams who merely preach about it.
There are other reasons why these forms of spiritual experience are suppressed.
When you make love – genuinely make love – you do not want to fight. Sex dissipates aggression, particularly in the man. An aggressive man, a man who wants to fight and win, is often not one who makes love or enjoys genuine loving relationships with his partner. He may have sex – perhaps with a prostitute which acts as a temporary dissipator of all that pent up energy, but it is a very short lived effect.

The orgasm, being a purely physical expression, is comparable to the eliminatory processes of the body. A gorged condition requires release. The only significance of the sex act, as far as it is a conscious experience, lies in its power to de-tension the nervous system...........

Pent forces, not of instinctive animal appetite craving for specific satisfaction, but of neuronic impulse restlessly desiring it knows not what, fret and strain him...
Whatever his faults and failure, modern man is not seeking to be glutted but to be assuaged, released from an intolerable stress. The demands of undeveloped faculty rend at him, striving to find delivery in expression. He short circuits the charge and finds a passing relief

the fountain of life which in him should rise in a rainbow creating jet, leaks away in a seepage of unrestrained, trivial eroticisms. Modern man's incessant sexuality is not bestial; rather it is a psychic haemorrhage. He bleeds himself constantly because he fears mental apoplexy if he can find no way of releasing his huge charge of nervous energy.
The lone male is a fighter – and as Gerald Heard put it, ideal cannon fodder for the people in power. Sexually repress a man and you get a soldier whether the soldier is a religious fanatic or a simple military man.

for a long while sociologically minded historians have been puzzled by the fact that militaristic dictators always interfere with the sexual freedom of their subjects, even forbidding behaviour which is private....
The dictators know intuitively how their requirements may be met. They require not merely cannon fodder but fanatics.
Nations and vast religious organisations – rich and politically powerful - are only created by abstention, by sexual repression and of course the large powerful religions are known for this.
So, as a consequence, all forms of sexually based spiritual practises have had to ‘go underground’, hidden in a morass of secret coding, symbolism, secret practising and so on. Read what happened to the Knights Templar and you will be able to appreciate the danger. People practising these forms of techniques whether Sufis, alchemists, or troubadors, risked torture, and death.
There are still many countries that practise sexual repression. But I am hoping that many people by now will be well informed enough via the Internet and by our advanced communications systems to rebel and reject what is unnatural.
Love leads to Divine Love. Love was the greatest gift that ‘God’ as the creator gave us and to deny that and repress its expression is an act of pure unadulterated evil.
