Route marches
Long distance walking can be undertaken as a voluntary activity in which case it is called long distance walking or it may be enforced in which case it tends to be called a route march! Many soldiers have experienced some very profound spiritual experiences whilst on route marches. I have provided one observation to show this.
Occasionally route marches are being helped by sleep deprivation. Mental exhaustion and sleep deprivation cause spiritual experiences ranging from hallucinations to visions, even out of body experiences.
