Common steps and sub-activities

Listening to cathedral organs

Organ pipes, particularly the very low bass toned organs in Cathedrals are very effective at promoting spiritual experience.  Although the organ may be playing a number of notes, there may be only one tone that produces the effect, but because organs maintain the tone for some time, this can be effective.  All organ pipes produce highly complex notes and thus even a pipe that appears to be producing an audible sound may well be producing an inaudible infrasound frequency that will resonate an organ in your brain inducing an experience of some kind or other.

Some very big cathedral organs emit quite high intensity sound and achieve whole body resonance.

The frequency of the sound is key.  As stimulation works via resonance, the frequency of the sound must match the resonant frequency of the organs in the brain to be stimulated.

Method

Find yourself an organ being played in some spiritually conducive place and sit and listen.  Try to avoid any place where a religious service is also going on.  All you want is the music – no words.

Why?  I am sure that the organ inventors of old and the theologians who asked for organs to be made for our cathedrals knew full well what the effects might be, but for the majority of us innocent church goers, we would have been entirely unaware.

This engendered a perhaps uncharitable thought in me, but one which perhaps is worth expressing.

An organ has a lot of pipes and given the tunes, the number of tunes in any service and the constant use in most of these tunes of very deep bass notes, there is a very high probability I would suspect that resonant frequencies are frequently obtained that affect almost the entire congregation.

The congregation would be affected quite unknowingly by the sound, and they would be highly susceptible to suggestion.  This mechanism is so potentially targeted and effective that it is clear people undergoing this would be as highly suggestive as they are during hypnosis, they would run the risk of being brain washed if their vicar or priest was of an unscrupulous disposition.

Hence the warning not to hear organ music accompanied by sermons from our more enthusiastic religious personnel.  Our religious leaders use or used the technique quite deliberately, but you dear reader should not be an involuntary victim of the technique.
